Sports Day!

Hello again! I forgot to tell you in my last blog that I had been dreading today all week. Public humiliation is not my idea of fun. Because the teachers are so clever they decided to take all the year groups, apart from year 11, to Palmer Park, which is a massive stadium with running tracks and spectators seats and everything! Anyways, let's not go into that yet because we have to start from the beginning.

I got up after an early night! I felt energised, clever me, so I ate half a coissant and got into a pair of shorts and trousers, with a plain white t-shirt and bright red vest on also. My Duffer trainers had to go on because they are pretty amazing and unique.

So all set I said bye to my lovely mother and met Richard who wasn't participating in sports day. He was pretty chuffed that he'd have a slack off day at school while I was mortified that I had to do three events; triple jump, 100m sprint and relay. I was worried about getting into school late because we were supposed to report to our tutor groups for registration at 8:40.

I got into the classroom early until Mrs. Kubesch arrived. She's very posh and well mannered seeing as she used to attend grammar school! Her teaching assitant wrote my name down, then Amber arrived kitted out in her sports clothes! I wanted her to sit next to me on the coach seeing as we're in the same tutor group. But when we got to assembly and sat down chatting for half an hour until Mr. Dimbelbey hushed us all and made his speech, I realised that I could sit with people within 10K aswell! So as quick as you like I decided to sit next to Charley. Seeing as Amber chose to sit next to Kyle, Frances' boyfriend, for the trip.

The journey took about 15 minutes when I was expecting it to take forever! Me and Charley talked about the Final Destination films and which bits were our favourite till the coach arrived at the stadium. It was huge and very intimidating. I felt nervous just looking at the bright orange and green coloured stands. We dumped our bums and all of our things on the red, plastic flippy chairs. I was getting more and more uncomfortable as Mr. Cornish, a very likeable history teacher's, voice announced the events. Before I even got a chance to relax, which would have been impossible anyway, my triple jump was called. Frances had skipped her only event and decided that she would just sit in the seats and watch for the whole day. So, seeing as I felt like killing myself to get me out of this event, I took a much nicer option and sat out which made me feel much better seeing as I love running. Amber sulked with me though. She said I should have done it. But I knew I would try my hardest to gain more points in the sprint.

Which I was much more relaxed about. I sat in order with all of my other competitors until the time came for me to face the track. It was like waiting in queue for a really scary rollercoaster, watching everyone leave before you. It was time to zone all my energy into this one race where all the best runners were competing. The gun shot and I felt the wind whizzing past me as I ran blindly forward, straining to come first. Four guys with longer legs than me came before me. So I came fifth. Which doesn't sound that impressive but makes me fifth faster in the entire school. Sounds much better now right? Before I raced my ex boyfriend kept appearing from everywhere which somehow pissed me off. Seeing as my friends kept shouting at him and said how much they wanted to hug him.

He was two places in front of me in the relay race too. He was so bigheaded about how sporty he was and kept saying to his friends, "I'm so fast!" I overheard him bragging while Amber tried to make him jealous by touching me and tickling me. It didn't work. I didn't want it to either.

I was in lane three and went through the whole routine of starting and running again. But I was in first until I passed the baton to my partner Jack. Then we fell behind.

Overall sports day brightened my day with singing and raving to Amber's MP3 player in amongst the cheering crowds! My fan club from younger years kept shouting my name and cheering me on! And let's not forgot the beautiful sunshine which kept us all smiling all day! Our tutor didn't even get placed but I wasn't put down. Me and Charley laughed at this quote from her book; "That's us, homos - we're unique, we're proud and hypersensitive!" I had nicked Frances' phone from her sock and tried to call her boyfriend while they were snogging on the coach to tell them. But I got evils instead. I slapped this annoying boy on the arm aswell because he hit Charley in the boobs. Which made this girl called Sophie, who I thought hated me and used to make fun of me, laugh so we started having a lovely conversation making me giggle.

We got back to school and I pretended I was stripping by unzipping my jumper pleasing Charley. Only joking she cringed really. We got told we could leave then, so after I gave back my phone to a very sick feeling Frances and had said goodbye to her I walked part of the way to Charley's house. But then I noticed I really fit guy so I stalked him until I joined up with George and Becca to ask them how their day with nobody around was! Until I got home and watched Zoo Factor with my 17 year old brother, eating a yummy doughnut and drinking a glass of coke. Until I decided to come on here and write to you seeing as I've been wanting to all day! It's my last Stagecoach tomorrow which will be sad. I'll report back to you tomorrow!
